OFFICIALLY working on the OFFICE

I can't tell you how happy this wall makes me. Dry wall is up!

No more awkward beam! Its an entire wall now!
This was taken from the front door. My guests can't see straight down into the office anymore, and no more unwanted bedroom peeking!
This nook will have shelves and custom cabinets. I AM SO PUMPED.
Speaking of custom cabinets, here are the doors we are using for them. We brought these home a couple of years ago from the family farm. I washed them and have started sanding them. I think they are going to look awesome in the office.
The next few weekends are packed solid with work and weddings. Hopefully we will get paint and trim up on the wall soon. Is it sad how happy a wall makes me?
Well that was our weekend. What did you guys do? If you have a project you want to share or if you have any suggestions for me - feel free to email me at brandi.wigley@gmail.com. Talk soon, friends!

One day ... this will be my office.
You guys have heard me talk about my "one day office." I am hoping we can start working on it this coming up weekend. CROSS YOUR FINGERS!

Since all three of our floors are connected by large walls, we had to pick a few paint colors that could work for ALL three floors, so our office (on the bottom floor) is the same color as our living room (middle floor) and that color does transition all the way up to the 3rd floor. Every room is open besides bedrooms and bathrooms. We like having the open living floor plan, but that's a TON of green and gold.

This is how the "office" looks now. I do really like how the green and gold both go with the Mexican tile floors, which were about the ONLY thing we liked about the house when we bought it! The Mexican tile floors are right as you walk through the front door and then in the office area only.

This is the view of the front door from the office. See? Pretty open living concept. And yes, that is a random beam that is running by our front door.
Our plan is to build a wall under the beam - taking out that Bannister and railings. This will allow us to build a shelving unit across that wall.
So now that you know what my "one day office" currently looks like, here are some inspirational pics. I would like to incorporate SOME of these features into our little space. A girl can dream, right?

Love the cork board in this one... and the ladder (sigh)
BEAUTIFUL!
I want to do a storage unit/window seat under the three windows... might be cool to have it double as a day bed??? Love this one.
We brought two old doors home from one of our scavenging trips through the old barns at the family farm. We have been planning on making them into cabinets similar to this. I was so excited when I found this pic online... now I can totally see how its going to look!
So friends, as you can tell - we have a LONG road a head of us in regards to the "one day office." I am so ready to call it my "today office." Hopefully soon!
If you have any suggestions on ideas for the office, please send them my way. OR if you have a project (big or small) that you would like to share, please email me at brandi.wigley@gmail.com
Hope ya'll have a fab week, friends! Talk soon!
