Hi friends!
So excited to tell you guys that we had a very productive weekend working on my "one day office." WOO HOOO! We have got a LONG road ahead of us, but I am so pleased with the work we did over the past two days.
Here is what we did:
This is what it looked like before...

I can't tell you how happy this wall makes me. Dry wall is up!

No more awkward beam! Its an entire wall now!
This was taken from the front door. My guests can't see straight down into the office anymore, and no more unwanted bedroom peeking!
This nook will have shelves and custom cabinets. I AM SO PUMPED.
Speaking of custom cabinets, here are the doors we are using for them. We brought these home a couple of years ago from the family farm. I washed them and have started sanding them. I think they are going to look awesome in the office.
The next few weekends are packed solid with work and weddings. Hopefully we will get paint and trim up on the wall soon. Is it sad how happy a wall makes me?
Well that was our weekend. What did you guys do? If you have a project you want to share or if you have any suggestions for me - feel free to email me at brandi.wigley@gmail.com. Talk soon, friends!
xoxo,
Brandi Nell

It's looking great! I'm just curious though, why the wide wall at the bottom? Did you have to match it up with the ceiling or something? Is there a cubby behind there or wasted space?
Hey there! There are actually a couple reasons why we did that "wide wall" or column.
We have noticed that the second floor needed more support. So, the "wide wall" framing works as additional needed support - but at the same time, it mimmicks the other side of the wall - making a balanced nook for the built ins.
Congrats on getting the wall up, looks great and I love that you made space for custom shelving it will look awesome for sure!
Love it!! Allen's man cave is our construction staging area.
