New-ish Vanity

Happy New Year, Friends!

This is going to be a great year! I can just feel it! We had a bit (or a lot) of fun on NYE so on Saturday we decided to be lazy... really lazy. IT FELT GREAT! Today I had so much energy! Hubs finished taking down all of the Christmas decor and I finished the little vanity/desk I have been working on.

I really like the way it turned out. I kind of want to keep it, but I think Hubs would kill me! We really don't have a place for it.

Remember what she looked like before?

Well here she is after. A little blue beauty!

I distressed her just a little to keep it antique looking. I still have to take off those UGLY wheels, add new feet, and add poly. I think it would be gorgeous with a white distressed mirror hanging (or leaning) over it.

Hubs loves that I stained the drawers, but I am not completely sure that I want to leave the drawers unpainted. What do you think? Should I paint them blue too? Also, I realize now that the left drawer pull is crooked in these pics - will fix that too :)

I have to admit, I am pretty nervous about selling one of my pieces. I have so many questions: What if I ask too much? What if I don't ask enough? What if the buyer ends up HATING it? But hey... it's a new year and I am trying new things!

What projects are you planning for 2011? Hope you guys have a great week! Talk soon, friends!

xoxo,

Brandi Nell

Looks great! I do think it would "pop" with a coat of poly!

Yeah, I agree with you on the wheels. But leave the coating of stain on the drawers, it looks nice.

Wow it's gorgeous! I LOVE that you didn't paint the drawers, makes it look more upscale wen you can see some of the quality wood ;)

I agree with Linda, keep the drawers stained, all white would be a more cottage look where this feels more vintage to me. I had a piece like this growing up and it had a mirror that rested on it. Good luck, hope you get a great price, it looks beautiful!
