Ten Anti-Resolutions for the New Year

Found this recently and had to share...
Ten ANTI-Resolutions For The New Year

1. Last year is OVER – let it go. No good comes from dwelling on the past.

2. Don’t whine about the bad in your life. Whining prolongs the problem and irritates the rest of us.

3. Keep your problems to yourself. The tolerant are your enemy, not your friend.

4. Keep your dreams to yourself. Naysayers can destroy your dreams by shaking your confidence.

5. Never make resolutions- they don’t work. They are task focused, not end-result focused.

6. Start with the end in mind. Know EXACTLY what you want your life to look like and make a plan.

7. Write things down. Problems get smaller when written down, goals become more real.

8. Expect derailment. You will experience setbacks. Big deal. Get over it and move on.

9. Don’t stop – unless you need to stop. Sometimes you discover it was a bad goal, or you need to rest, or you need to start over completely – otherwise, stay focused and keep the momentum going.

10. Celebrate. Not just at the end, but all along the way.

Enjoy your day and your evening! I will be sharing my goals for 2012 tomorrow! Talk soon, friends!

Half Marathon Mondays... 8 miles

Hi friends!!

I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas! We enjoyed every minute (well maybe not those in the car) of our holiday... Santa was good to us and it was wonderful to celebrate with family. We are extremely blessed.

All of the food and cheer(s) definitely made today's run difficult. We had to run EIGHT MILES... the day after Christmas. I am certain that I must be a masochist or something. Who does that to themselves?!? WE.DO.

Surpisingly we did well for that long of a run. We finished the eight miles in 1:26. I'll TAKE IT!

This was the view the whole way...

Well it was until it got dark. We didn't realize how late it had gotten and we were still out there after sun down. I WAS SO SCARED. I don't like running the trail in the dark. That definitely won't be happening again.

Hubs got a Nike hydration belt for Christmas from Santa Claus. He was so excited to take it out, and he is loving his as much as I love mine.

Tomorrow we both have to go back to work... wish we had just a few more days to relax. We also need to finish up our bathroom. Oh well, we will get to it when we can. Hope y'all have a great week ahead! Talk soon, friends! MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Half Marathon Mondays: Geared Up

Hi Friends -

I hope you all have survived Monday. It was a tough one for me, as I have been feeling a little under the weather today. Thank goodness Mondays are rest days for the half marathon training.

Last week was a difficult one for us in training. We ran four days straight with no rest - and Friday we ran seven miles. It hurt. That is an understatement to say the least. I recognize the im
portance of the rest day now. Ha! We definitely won't be trying to cram a whole week's worth of training in just a few days.

Okay - let's chat running gear. Last we
ek I told y'all about my obsession with Nike+ GPS. I need to tell you about another Nike product I just love... My hydration belt.

Running long distances, it is hard to stay hydrated. I seriously HATE carrying a water bottle. A while back ago, Hubs brought home this water belt... but let's call it what it really is - A fanny
pack.

Not only did this thing look ridiculous, but it was horrible to run in. It bounced around like crazy. I fidgeted with the thing the entire time we ran. Needless to say, I only ran with it once.

While out running one day, I started noticing many of the other (legit) runners had water belts with flat bottles. They weren't bouncing at all! That was the answer!

After searching high and low for a hydration belt that also had a ouch large enough to hold my iPhone, I found this one by Nike.

It is seriously amazing. I might still look nerdy, but hey - at least it's not a fanny pack!

This week's training requires
Monday: Rest
Tuesday: 3 miles
Wednesday: 4 miles
Thursday: 3 miles
Friday: Rest
Saturday: 8 miles
Sunday: Cross Training

Wish us luck! Hope everyone has a fabulous week! Talk soon, friends!

Master Bath - First VLOG!

Hi friends! Happy Wednesday!

Okay - so the master bath is starting to shape up! Rather than do a looooong post, I decided to shoot a vlog!

First, here is a shot of the bathroom before:

Gross.

Now, on to my debut - LOL

As you can tell we still have a long way to go on this bathroom! I will update you guys on the progress soon!

I probably should have done my hair or makeup - but I still had to head to the gym... just keeping it real, friends! Also, I didn't realize how strong my southern accent was until I watched this. HA!
